DTS Virtual:X
The Yamaha YAS-207 Soundbar and Subwoofer is the first soundbar that is ready for DTS Virtual:X, a new technology that will simulate three-dimensional surround sound for all of your favourite movies, TV shows and sporting events, offering sound that appears to come from above and around you, all from one speaker.
DTS Virtual:X will blow you away when it comes to performance and quality in sound. The sound field produced is massive and detailed and will add that extra sense of immersion and excitement to your viewing experience. This technology will work at its best when used with movies or TV shows that have been mixed to accommodate DTS:X or Dolby Atmos. No matter where you place the Yamaha YAS-207, six built-in drivers will produce wide-open sound and Clear Voice technology will ensure dialogue remains easy to understand.
DTS Virtual:X relies almost completely on digital sound processing, meaning it doesn’t follow the same technique as Dolby Atmos or DTS:X in which sound is bounced off walls and ceilings. DTS Virtual:X uses spatial audio techniques in order to replicate the sensation of 360 degree sound, including overhead atmospheric effects.
Setup and Installation
Even with DTS Virtual:X switched off this soundbar will add excitement to your home cinema experience. And thankfully, getting setup has been made a doddle, meaning you can be enjoying your TV or movie within minutes. Installation options remain flexible, with wall-mounting, stand-mounting or simple table-mounting available.
You would think that for a soundbar with such advanced sound processing, setup would be difficult, but that isn’t the case with the Yamaha YAS-207. Connect the bar directly to your television via the digital optical cable that is included, or use the soundbar’s HDMI input and output. Both of these cables are compatible with 4K televisions and video sources with High Dynamic Range, meaning support for all of the latest standards are supported.
Subwoofer Included
The Yamaha YAS-207 soundbar comes provided with an external subwoofer. This subwoofer will communicate wirelessly with the soundbar in order to give you more placement options without worrying about trailing wires. Powerful and effective, this subwoofer will bring booming bass to your viewing experience. The subwoofer offers all of this whilst remaining nice and slim, allowing you to place the unit directly next to your TV setup .
Control
The Yamaha YAS-207 comes provided with a remote control, but to make things even easier, this soundbar comes with support offered for the Yamaha app. This free smartphone app is compatible with Android and Apple and will give the user complete control over the volume, power, and listening modes. These listening modes include: Music, TV Program, Movie, Sports, and Game, and will tailor the sound to meet the requirements of each setting.
Connecting to the Yamaha YAS-207 is also achievable for compatible devices via Bluetooth technology, allowing you to control the soundbar and stream all of your favourite music wirelessly.
