In-Ear Headphone Buying Guide
In-ear headphones are the way to go for a lightweight, compact, portable music on the move. For those people who want some respite from the noise of the daily commute, without having something that takes up too much room, Hifix’ s range of in-ear headphones offers a range of compact designs which offer the topmost sound quality, to allow the best sound from your smartphone, tablet, or media player. Generally, the in-ear headphones included with these devices are very cheaply made and extremely poor quality and even a modest set of in-ear headphones will transform your listening experience, giving you tight, more tuneful, more powerful bass, cleaner, clearer, more well-defined vocals, and sweeter, smoother highs.
A few of the in-ear headphones that we stock at Hifix are the traditional earbud design, where the headphones simply sit directly outside the ear canal. As this design means that there isn’t quite the level of fit security offered with other designs, many manufacturers have extra parts to the headphones to ensure they don’t fall out on the move. Our traditional earbud designs are supplied to us and Bose®
Ear Canal Fitting
Most of the in-ear headphones that we at Hifix stock, however, use the much more popular in-ear canal fitting. This generally provides a more secure fit and better sound isolation. These in-ear headphones come with a whole host of replaceable silicone rubber, elastomer, or foam tips, which ensure that you will get the most comfortable fit. Most of our in-ear-canal headphones are small enough that they will fit comfortably and securely without the need for any extra stabilisation. The few larger models we stock use innovative methods to provide a secure, comfortable fit. Due to their design, the in-ear canal fitting does a very good job of blocking out external noise, and also prevent sound leaking out. Our in-ear canal style headphones are available from brands such as Bowers & Wilkins, Kef, Bose®, Denon, Sennheiser, Klipsch and Denon
Noise Isolation Headphones
On top of the noise-isolating properties that in-ear headphones provide, we also offer some noise-cancelling in-ear headphones. These use active noise cancellation to cut out any extraneous noise that the noise-isolation fails to block out. Our noise-cancelling in-ear headphones such as Bose®, Pioneer, Sennheiser and a few others are highly recommended
Bluetooth in-ear headphones are also available. These offer a direct, wireless connection to your smartphone or tablet, which means that there are no tangled wires to worry about. These also generally offer control over your playback, answering, and receiving of calls.
Many of our in-ear headphones also offer control over your portable devices via an in-line remote. This can either give you a simple play & pause control, or a fully-fledged remote experience, with skipping tracks and volume control as well as the basics. The vast majority of these in-line controls also have a built-in mic for phone conversations.
