The Yamaha R-N402 stereo network receiver features a network audio player and a stereo receiver, all in one unit. It features MusicCast which is Yamaha's own multiroom technology built in to many of their devices. It means you can stream music in digital format from your PC, smartphone, tablet or Network-attached storage (NAS) to other devices equipped with MusicCast. You can also play songs from radio apps, music apps or even YouTube type video hosting services. For private listening, you have the ability to stream music from the network receiver to Bluetooth headphones.
The new Yamaha network receiver also has a USB input on the front panel for connecting USB drives. This enables you to listen to the songs of your choice, stored on the drive with unparalleled sound quality. Another standout feature of this receiver is the gapless playback that lets you to enjoy music without pauses. The audio formats supported by the receiver include AIFF 192 kHz/24-bit, WAV / FLAC 192 kHz/24-bit and Apple Lossless 96 kHz/24-bit.
Yamaha's brand new stereo network receiver features an aluminium front panel with a sleek sliver or black finish. Even the control knobs have been designed for better functionality and usability. The digital input provided in the receiver has two terminals - optical and coaxial, former for receiving audio from a TV and the latter serves the same use from a Blu-ray disc player.
