The Rega Planar 78 is a turntable produced solely for the reproduction of 78rpm records and leaves out anything unnecessary to give you the pure performance of the record. High quality parts are used across the turntable, ensuring that the Rega Planar 78 turntable remains reliable throughout the years.
Fitted with the Rega RB220 tonearm, the Rega Planar 78 turntable delivers detail from the vinyl with the RB220’s ultra lightweight polymer bearing, die-cast tube and three point fixing technique. This design reduces stress on the tonearm and plinth, creating more stability in the tonearm.
The Rega Planar 78 features a flywheel effect platter made from phenolic resin to assist start up speed and stability when running, as well as a low vibration 24v motor. A dedicated 78rpm cartridge is also available separately, the Rega RB78 moving magnet cartridge, to truly maximise this turntable’s potential.
