The new Denon AVC-X8500H will power the next generation of home theatre components, offering (for the first time ever) 13.2 channel AV amplification with support included for all of the latest audio formats; meaning your movies/TV show’s soundtracks will be delivered to you in the most immersive, breath taking experience currently possible from a home theatre AV Receiver. With Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D support, the big screen cinema experience is now available to you in the comfort of your very own home. Built-in HEOS technology and Amazon Alexa voice assistant technology (available Spring 2018) simply make the experience even better, taking your music listening experience to the next level with whole-home audio.

The Denon AVC-X8500H AV Receiver offers powerful 13.2 channel home theatre amplification, pathing the way for the next generation of home theatre as the first ever AV receiver capable of doing so. 13 channels of built-in amplification allow for premium 3D surround sound of up to 7.2.6 without the need for any external amplification. And with the support of 4K pass-through, this AVR will deliver 4K Ultra-HD picture standards to fully immerse you in all of your favourite movies, TV shows and music.

Advanced Video Section

With 8 HDMI inputs (including an input located on the front of the unit for convenience), and three HDMI outputs – all with HDCP 2.2 compatibility and the latest HDMI specifications including 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Colour sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR) and 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through support – the AVC-X8500 is also capable of handling Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) for 3D audio playback through TV applications (this feature will be available through a firmware update).

The advanced video processor will work to upscale any SD or HD video content, bringing it up as close as possible to 4K, no matter whether it is received via an analogue or digital source. Three HDMI outputs will even go as far as allowing you to connect a TV and projector in the main room, whilst playing back something else on a screen located in a second zone.

High Dynamic Range (HDR), Dolby Vision, and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) support is also available, transforming your movie into an astonishing viewing experience through superb brightness, contrast and colour. HLG also offers HDR technology over broadcast content.

Dolby Atmos

The audio section of the Denon AVC-X8500H has been packed full of the latest advanced technology. This unit comes fitted with the highest resolution audio decoders, including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, as well as DTS Neural:X and Auro 3D. The Denon AVC-X8500H AV Receiver can run with two dedicated overhead speakers in 5.1.2 configuration. With 8 HDMI inputs and 3 HDMI outputs, this AV receiver is futuristic. It also features HDCP 2.2 compatibility.

The sole intention of Dolby Atmos is to make it feel as though you are truly in the middle of all the action. Providing a clarity, power, detail and depth to your home theatre that is truly astonishing, Dolby Atmos is the first home theatre system that has been based on audio objects rather channels. This means that filmmakers are able to decide where the sounds should originate from and where abouts they should move to as the scene progresses. In order to deliver the full object-based soundtrack to your home theatre, Dolby has developed new home authorising tools and new encoding methods that will allow all the audio objects created for use within a cinema to be used within the comfort of your own home.

DTS:X

The next generation in audio codec from DTS, DTS:X leverages object-based audio to enable immersive and interactive audio experiences. This technology is able to automatically adapt to the existing channels and speaker systems already in your home theatre setup, meaning no specific speaker layout is required. DTS:X will allow you to experience an immersive soundscape with incredibly rich and life-like audio.

Auro 3D

Included with the AVC-X8500H, Auro 3D is a technology that will elevate your home theatre’s sound to new levels, creating an even more brilliant and lifelike movie experience. Delivering the excitement of three-dimensional sound to all of your music, games, movies and TV shows, Auro 3D’s automatic up-mixing engine will enhance any of your existing audio-visual components.

Audyssey Technology

The AVC-X8500H AV Receiver also comes with Audyssey's Platinum suite of advanced DSP audio algorithms, which include the MultiEQ XT32 automatic room acoustic measurement and correction system. This provides superior digital correction compared to standard MultEQ and MultEQ XT, with the ability to measure up to eight different locations within the room. Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Audyssey Dynamic Volume are also included, along with Dynamic Surround Expansion for the ultimate experience in home cinema audio. Audyssey Pro Installer is also compatible, delivering superior in-room acoustic measurement and correction capabilities with up to thirty-two measurement points. Audyssey Dynamic Volume will smooth out any annoying jumps in volume, which can be found, for example, when a TV advert cuts in, letting you listen at low levels, whilst still enjoying clear dialogue, music and sound effects.

Digital to Analogue Conversion

The Denon AVC-X8500 features an advanced reference-class 32-bit AKM AK4490EQ stereo Digital to Analogue Convertor (DAC) over all channels. This allows the AVR to produce optimum fidelity and the widest dynamic range possible with the lowest distortion. This only goes to heighten an already brilliant listening experience.

Connectivity

This AV Receiver has a robust connectivity system that features an advanced dual antenna system for error free streaming via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Apple AirPlay. The Bluetooth function features automatic power on, as well as pairing. Up to eight Bluetooth devices can be remembered, allowing for easier and much faster connection to devices. Smoother and stronger Wi-Fi transmission can be achieved, as well as Bluetooth transmissions and improved reception coverage. Apple AirPlay will let you stream content from your iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone. Internet radio is also included, offering thousands of radio stations for you to enjoy. Subscription music services such as Pandora, SiriusXM and Spotify Connect are also open to you.

Wi-Fi allows for easy connection of compatible devices, meaning you can gain access to all your music and video files on Wi-Fi capable devices. You can even hard-wire connect your devices to the internet via the RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port.

A USB port, conveniently placed on the front panel, will allow you to stream music from your iPod, iPad or iPhone, charging the device at the same time. The USB can also be used to stream tracks directly from a USB stick or NAS for the ultimate high resolution music experience.

HEOS Multi-Room Technology and HEOS Control App

With HEOS technology included, the Denon AVC-X8500H AV Receiver has the capability to become a part of a HEOS multi-room system. This will allow you to enjoy all of your music and video throughout your entire home. Sharing any of your music that you have stored on your home network has been made possible, as well as accessing Internet Radio and online music streaming services, all through the simple connection of the AVC-X8500H to any compatible HEOS wireless speaker or HEOS-capable receivers. Music streaming services available to you include Spotify, Deezer, TuneIn Internet Radio, Sound Cloud, Tidal, and Napster*. You can even download the HEOS app to access music from your phone, USB stick, or computers and NAS drives via the home network. No matter what you want to listen to, or how you choose to listen to it, the HEOS app will allow direct access, and it will even support favourites and playlist functions.

Download the HEOS app to open up a whole new array of control and streaming functionalities. This app is available, for free, from the Apple AppStore and the Google Play Store and will provide you with instant multi-room audio control. The app will give you the option to command music throughout every room via any device, opening up the ability to play different sources in each room, or even the ability to group several rooms together and play the same song throughout your home for the ultimate experience, perfectly synchronised via party mode.

Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant

Alexa is an intuitive personal assistant developed by Amazon. First seen in the Amazon Echo and Amazon Echo Dot, Alexa has now been integrated into a wide range of new devices. Alexa enables hands-free control over your music and calls, and even responds efficiently to voice commands. Play your favourite music through several online music streaming services (a full list of which can be found in the specifications tab) without the need to select the track on your phone or other device, and even allocate which speaker you’d like to hear it from, simply by asking Alexa to do it. All you need to do is sit back and relax.

Alexa will not only provide you with a seamless listening experience, she will also make your everyday life that much easier. Providing news updates, traffic updates and managing smart devices, Alexa will take the worry and hassle out of common activities and allow you to spend more time relaxing.

Alexa will respond to your voice with a dedicated “wake-up” word, meaning you won’t even need to press a button to wake the AI assistant up. Accessibility is at its best with this outstanding new feature.

Smart TV Connectivity

Connect your Denon AVC-X8500H directly to your Smart TV remote via the intuitive HDMI CEC functionality. All you will need to do is simply select “HDMI Control” and set it to ON, then set “Smart Menu” to ON – control over the AVR will then be achieved. The Smart Menu home screen will provide you with quick access to sources, surround mode selections, the AVR’s setup menu, as well as four Smart Selects. This function will do away with the need for multiple controls, allowing for a more seamless and integrated viewing experience.
