On Saturday, April 21st, 2018, Frank Harvey Hi-Fi Excellence in Coventry was the only record store in the county to celebrate the 11th annual Record Store Day with an in-store event. At this event, customers joined us in the hundreds – queueing from as early as 9 pm the previous evening – to get their hands on exclusive vinyl records that are only available in store, including exclusive releases from David Bowie, Prince, Tom Waits, Abba, Madonna and many, many more. There was food and drink available to the customers and demonstrations from a representative for some of the leading names in hi-fi, including Monitor Audio, Roksan, Cyrus, Pro-Ject Audio and KEF.
Exclusive Vinyl
The event brought in revenue of over £26,000, hundreds of excited customers, and made for an absolutely brilliant day in which like-minded people came together to celebrate independent record stores and the joy of fresh vinyl. There were plenty of free giveaways during the event, which saw some lucky customers receive some truly amazing prizes, including a free Kef Muo Bluetooth speaker to the first person in line, 10 free Cyrus SoundKey DAC/Headphone Amplifiers to the following ten in line, free RSD18 branded tote bags to the first 20 in line.
There was also a grand prize draw that each customer entered into as they waited in the queue, the winners of which were made the lucky owners of the Pro-Ject Essential III Limited Edition Sergeant Pepper Turntable and the Rega Planar 1, respectively.
