Connect amplifiers, receivers, soundbars, and AVRs to a broad range of subwoofers with this Audioquest Greyhound Subwoofer Cable. Solid 0.5% Silver conductors minimize distortion, Foamed-Polyethylene preserves dynamic contrasts, and a Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation efficiently dissipates high-frequency noise. The result is clearer, naturally beautiful music, intelligible dialogue, and thrilling sound effects.
Solid 0.5% Silver Conductor
Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable.
This is an incredibly cost-effective way of manufacturing very high-quality Greyhound subwoofer cables.
Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation
It’s easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured Radio Frequency Interference from modulating the equipment’s ground reference, Greyhound subwoofer cable requires AQ’s Noise-Dissipation System. Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise/RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical “reference” ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal.
Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is part of an imperfect circuit. Both wire insulation and circuit board materials absorb energy. They store some of this energy and then release it as distortion.
Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials. This helps the Greyhound Subwoofer cable maintain a pure signal.
Hyperlitz Coax Geometry
A perfect circle of eight negative conductors spiral around a single, larger positive conductor, creating a cable with a large cross-sectional area, minimizing the drawbacks of skin effect, and providing low resistance.
Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Terminations
This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the Greyhound subwoofer cable employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal is chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.
