As amazing as it seems, the Yamaha YSP-3000 digital sound projector can actually deliver multi-channel sound that surrounds listeners the same way that sound from front, centre and rear speakers does. DVD movies and other digital sources sound just the way they are supposed to. Dolby Pro Logic II is included, so even 2-channel TV sounds can be heard in glorious multi-channel surround. Rather than reflecting sounds off the walls the Yamaha YSP3000 digital sound projector includes a "My Surround" mode where it creates the surround experience without reflecting the sounds off the walls. This is very handy if for rooms where the walls can not be used and still delivers a good surround effect when listeners are closer to the unit. My surround uses a combination of DiMagic and Yamaha technology, The My Beam setting focuses the sound at a specific listening position, and so even in noisy surroundings the dialogue is still clear. There are also 5 more sound settings providing a more expansive sound field.

The Yamaha YSP-3000 digital sound projector exclusive feature (IntelliBeam Automated System Calibration) ensures optimum multi-channel sound reproduction with accurate image isolation. By monitoring and analysing the sound with the microphone included with the Yamaha YSP3000, IntelliBeam automatically sets the best beam angles, while optimising the level and frequency response of each beam. It also offers "Direct Start" function via remote unit. This makes initial setup both very simple while acoustically perfect.

HDMI provides the transmission of digital multichannel audio and high-definition video signals via a single cable. The YSP3000 digital sound projector has dual HDMI inputs and one output. The dual inputs let the user connect two different sources, such as a DVD player and a set-top box. The output supports 1080p/24Hz, and 50Hz (PAL) or 60Hz (NTSC) video signals, so they can be throughput to a monitor for enjoying high definition video quality. When the YSP-3000 is connected to the Panasonic VIERA Link compatible TV via HDMI, you can turn on/off the YSP with the TV, adjust the volume of the YSP, and shift the audio between them by its TV remote unit.
