The Yamaha RXV383 AV Receiver features Bluetooth connectivity technology that allows you to connect your Bluetooth compatible devices and enjoy your music library over a wide range of devices. The Compressed Music Enhancer that is included has now been optimised for Bluetooth audio transmissions, providing vivid and lively sound quality for wireless playback. As well as playback from mobile devices, the RXV383 will allow you to stream music from the receiver to your Bluetooth headphones for private listening, or to Bluetooth speakers for enhanced portability.

Support is offered for the latest HDMI standards, including 4K/60p, HDCP2.2, HDR Video with Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log-Gamma (available via firmware upgrade), and BT.2020 pass-through. 4K video at 60 fps pass-through will provide Ultra-HD 4K video without any degradation. Adhering to the HDCP2.2 copyright protection standard for 4K playback, the RXV383 will offer brilliant quality true 4K UHD video. HDR (High Dynamic Range) Video including Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log-Gamma provides brilliant contrast, smooth tone and rich, bright colours, and BT.2020 pass-through support provides a wider colour gamut. The Yamaha RXV383 is also compatible with 3D, Audio Return Channel and CEC for ease of operation.

With all of these impressive video support capabilities, the RXV383 uses a discrete amp configuration and a low jitter PLL circuit. This works to provide an outstanding audio performance fit for your UHD video. YPAO Sound Optimisation comes included and enables Automatic Speaker Setup. YPAO works to analyse the room acoustics, adjusting various audio parameters for optimum sound in mere minutes. HD audio is provided through Yamaha's exclusive Cinema DSP technology, supporting Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and more, delivering natural and expansive sound imaging.

With the use of the Yamaha RXV383's Virtual Cinema Front technology, reproduction of virtual 5-channel surround sound that is filled with realism can be achieved, even when it is not possible to install surround speakers behind the listening position. Virtual Cinema Front offers greater flexibility to arrange your speakers in the room, as well as an improved listening experience of high quality surround sound. The Yamaha RXV383'S Virtual Cinema Front technology will produce even better high quality sound when used with a pair of surround speakers positioned in front of the listening position. The exclusive low-range enhancement technology that comes integrated in this receiver delivers a much richer bass than would be expected from the speaker size, and maintains good localisation and sound balance even with compact front speakers. With the addition of a subwoofer, this technology improves the volume of the entire low range of the speaker system, enhancing both the performance of the front speakers and the bass from the subwoofer.

The Yamaha RXV383's subwoofer trim control is used to achieve improved sound imaging. Enhancing low frequencies by avoiding overlap with the front speaker output, this control is used to result in a cleaner and more focused sound stage, whilst at the same time providing a seamless frequency response. The subwoofer trim takes care of frequency overlap that can be found in other, more conventional systems by separating the low subwoofer frequencies cleanly, stabilising the front stage and providing a well-balanced and enhanced bass sound. The subwoofer trim ensures that the usual result of sound being "pushed" toward the subwoofer no longer occurs.

The Yamaha RXV383 comes with an easy AV setup guide app that helps to make system setup as easy and quick as it can possibly be. The app can be downloaded for free from the Apple AppStore and the Google Play Store and works to assist you with cable setup between AV receiver and source devices. The app will guide you through a whole range of settings such as speaker connections, TV and source device connections and the assignment of power amps. System illustrations and actual AV receiver images are provided to gain a greater understanding of how to make connections between devices. The app is available in multiple languages and is compatible with a wide range of iOS and Android mobile and tablet devices.

Press the SCENE button to power on the Yamaha RXV383 and select the input source and DSP mode. Rest the buttons for different sources by selecting a source and DSP mode, then pressing the SCENE button for more than three seconds. The RXV383's ECO mode works to reduce power consumption by around 20% and can be set from the top of the GUI menu. Auto Power Standby will save energy by selecting the option to automatically power down after either 20 minutes or 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours.
