-Tannoy Mercury 7.4 Speakers

The seventh generation of Tannoy's popular Mercury speaker range comes with a new style and higher performance that make them stand out from the earlier line-up of speakers. The new Mercury Speaker set is slightly bigger and more vibrant looking as compared to earlier models.

They come with a 44 litre twin-ported cabinet and a refined 28 mm (1.1-inch) Soft Dome Tweeter and dual 178 mm (7-inch) mid/bass drivers that pack a powerful punch. These speakers are generally suitable for bigger rooms where the music needs to be delivered with an impact but on a wider scale.

The 7.4 Speakers' drivers are placed in a D'Appolito driver configuration that helps in enhancing imaging and producing a comprehensive soundstage. The dispersion characteristics are flattened through an acute crossover area by installing the tweeter in the centre-in-between the two bass/mid drivers. This ensures that you get a highly expressive musical performance on & off the speaker's key axis. Moreover, this also helps to eliminate the traditional 'sweet spot' so you can the same high quality audio even if you're not sat directly in the perfect spot.

Due to them being compatible with a wide range of hi fi and home cinema systems they're extremely versatile. They can deliver class-leading power, managed at around 300 Watts and exceptionally high 93 dB/watt productivity. When used with the high-current crossover, they can be driven harder and they still deliver genuine dynamics-the overall performance is sublime even when the volume is turned high.
