-Sony VPLVW760 4K Projector - Product Description
4K Ultra HD Support
The native Silicone X-tal Reflective Display (SXRD) technology within this projector will deliver 4K resolution (4096 x 2160) with even the finest of details rendered clear and natural with no blurred edges or visible pixels. These SXRD panels will offer even more contrast, producing deeper blacks and clearer, more fluid images. The reflective silicone layer over the panels has been optimised even further to enhance light control and ensure shadows and blacks are more accurately reproduced. 4K’s 8.8 million pixels, the image produced by this projector is nothing short of mind-blowing. Native 4K corresponds to the DCI (Digital Cinema Initiative) specifications used in professional cinema screenings, meaning your home cinema experience will be unlike any other.
The compact and practical design of this 4K projector eases installation; it is easy to incorporate in home cinema setups with some flexible options. With a front-facing fan, the 4K projector has enough space for clearance for inhale/exhaust during installation. The VPLVW760 4K Projector features 2 HDMI ports (HDCP 2.2), RS-232C D-sub 9-pin (female), RJ-45 (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) Network Connection Port, IR In Mini Jack, 12V Trigger Mini-jack and a convenient USB Port.
TRILUMINOS Technology
The VPLVW760 features Triluminos colours that reproduce more tones and textures than standard projectors. Typically hard-to-reproduce shades like crimson reds, aqua blues and emerald greens are displayed perfectly with this 4K projector. Colours that are staggeringly vibrant can be achieved thanks to TRILUMINOS technology. This technology equips the VPLVW760 with a wider colour range in order to produce an image that will display more real-world colours and nuances than is possible for most projectors, delivering a more realistic viewing experience. Colours like purple, aqua blue and emerald green can usually be tricky to reproduce properly, but with TRILUMINOS technology, the VPLVW760 displays them beautifully, ensuring landscapes or marine scenes are more lifelike. And on top of all of that, improved reproduction of skin tones will now allow faces to look even better and more lifelike.
High Dynamic Range and Hybrid Log-Gamma Support
HDR support is provided with this 4K projector, offering the best achievable picture possible with today’s technology. Offering an expanded brightness range to deliver more realistic, high contrast images, as well as beautifully brilliant colours, HDR lets you experience picture quality as the director had always intended. HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) formats are supported, providing vibrant colours, the truest blacks, and stunning detail.
Z-Phosphor™ Laser Light Technology
The Sony VPLVW760 4K Projector uses Z-Phosphor™ Laser Light technology, a source of light that will let you enjoy exceptional 4K pictures with uncompromised levels of brightness. This light source will provide up to 20,000 hours of uninterrupted viewing, with little to no maintenance needed and no cause to replace the lamp. The lamp itself offers 2000 lumens, providing high brightness from the laser light source, producing vibrant images across screens of up to 762cm (300 inches) in size.
8:1dynamic contrast will provide stunning realism to the picture, bringing every single frame to life with absolute clarity and crystal clear detail. The laser light output is adjusted dynamically depending on what is displayed on the screen, thus achieving both deep and inky blacks, and vibrant, clear colours.
Motionflow Technology
Motionflow technology will allow for images that flow seamlessly in every situation, including those fast-paced action scenes. Motionflow creates and inserts additional images between the original video sequence, comparing the visual cores of two consecutive images and then computing each tiny fraction of missing action. Choosing “True Cinema Mode” on the VPLVW760 will activate Motionflow, thus delivering a frequency of 24 frames-per-second, drastically changing and improving upon the original.
Installation
When it comes to installation, storage and positioning flexibility has been a main focus in the production of the VPLVW760, with Sony making sure that this projector not only offers the best picture quality possible, but also that it remains compact and easy to install within new or pre-existing home theatre set-ups. The greater zoom and lens shift will offer more options for screen sizes within smaller or larger rooms, meaning you can position it as close or as far away as possible, or even install it in the ceiling. The front-mounted fan means that there is no space needed for the exhaust during its installation, therefore maximising the possibility of available distance, maximising the projector for larger screens. The fan is absolutely whisper quiet, with only a near-silent 24 dB in sound being emitted, meaning you won’t miss any dialogue or sound effects because of sound pollution from the fan.
