More features include a new 24v low noise motor, completely new designed central bearing and acrylic laminated plinth. The brand new RB220 uses ultra-low friction, zero play ball bearings that are designed by Rega themselves and they are then housed in a stiffer, more lightweight body which due to its new automatic bias setting means you won't need to set the bias yourself. This makes the turntable pretty much plug and play.

The plinth itself has been improved from the last one with an ergonomically positioned power switch and high gloss laminate finish. New 'Optiwhite' 10mm float glass has been used for the platter which helps in improving the accuracy. You'll also find a new 11mm self-securing brass bearing which means less stress on the bearing and an improved fit meaning potential energy is not transferred. Every single feature on the Rega Planar 2 has been made and included on the turntable so the maximum amount of data can be lifted from your records making them sound better than ever.
