The Rega Planar 1 PLUS is a brand new plug-and-play turntable that benefits from all of the Planar 1’s advantages and adds a brand new built-in phono stage.  Where this model still retains the low noise 24v motor, precision hub bearing assembly and handmade RB110 tonearm with factory fitted Carbon cartridge that could be found on its predecessor, the Planar 1 PLUS features a built-in phono stage that will offer the ability to connect this turntable directly to nearly any system with a standard line input via a phono to phono cable that comes supplied, or a phono to 3.5mm lead. With the P1 PLUS, there is absolutely no need to buy a standalone phono stage or amplifier with a built in stage.

Phono Stage Built In

This built-in phono stage is a high spec pre-amplifier that has been designed to amplify the signal from a MM cartridge to the correct level for all line level inputs over an appropriate system or amplifier. The phono stage will allow a simple connection to be achieved via a plethora of products.

New Rega RB110 Tonearm with Factory Fitted Carbon MM Cartridge

The Planar 1 PLUS incorporates the brand new Rega RB110 tonearm that has been built using the new Rega designed, bespoke, zero play bearings that boast an ultra-low friction performance. This tonearm uses an entirely new bias assembly and integrated arm clip, includes automatic bias adjustment in order to do away with the need for the user to set the bias, and features a new and ergonomically designed stiffer headshell than can be found on other earlier models, thus providing this tonearm with much better usability and greatly improving upon its appearance. To top this all off, the Rega RB110 tonearm comes fitted with the Rega Carbon MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge as standard. 

New Features

More impressive features on the new Rega Planar 1 PLUS include a 24v synchronous AC motor with a new motor PCB and aluminium pulley that offers low noise and greater speed stability; a brand new Thermoset plinth that has been gloss laminated and features a new ergonomically positioned on/off switch on the underside of the plinth, vastly improving upon the turntable’s appearance; a redesigned brass main bearing that will offer an improved fit and removes the stress on the bearing whilst minimising the transfer of potential energy; a phenolic high mass platter with improved flywheel effect for improved speed stability; newly designed feet that have been included in order to increase stability and reduce any  transference of vibration; and a new motor cover tray that features integrated cooling.
