In 2005 Q Acoustics assembled a design team from the worlds most experienced and successful loudspeaker designers and presented them with a very simple goal. They challenged them to 'redefine the possible' and design and produce the very best affordable loudspeakers the world has ever known.
The multiple awards and ecstatic reaction from the world's press confirmed their belief that the Q Acoustics design team achieved this monumental objective and the original '1000 Series' loudspeakers represented unequalled sonic performance in their class.
In 2007, they were then again asked them to redefine the possible once again. This time Q Acoustics wanted a world-beating 'Style' home cinema speaker package. One which delivered a truly outstanding and engaging home cinema and musical experience, but which didn't intrude into the living space, and like other Q Acoustics models. They came up with the Q Acoustics Q AV system, which is a very smart, sleek and stylish home cinema speaker package which is designed to not be noticed.
Q Acoustics' brilliant design team have clearly achieved the seemingly impossible. To attain the exceptional level of performance, they embraced NXT technology and developed bespoke BMR™ (Balanced Mode Radiator) drive units. The Q Acoustics' Q-AV speakers are the world's first products to incorporate this state-of-the-art technology.
Advanced BMR™ drivers have a number of advantages over conventional loudspeakers. Needless to say, like any very high quality loudspeaker, they produce excellent, dynamic, low distortion sound. However, BMR™ drivers produce this sound from much smaller cabinets than conventional speakers and also boast an 'Ultra-Wide' sound-field. This means listeners can enjoy full home cinema sound from these speakers, anywhere in the room and not just in the 'best seat' as with ordinary speakers.
The Q Acoustics Q AV 'ultra-wide' sound-field allows the stylish BMR™ rear speakers to be positioned unobtrusively, close to the floor, or 'up high' near the ceiling. The design allows for the speakers to be easily fitted even if skirting board or coving is present. The speakers can also be used free-standing with the supplied support.
