The quiet running decoupled AC motor with its two step metal pulley drives the Hub and Platter via a flat drive belt and plays at 33 and 45 RPM. The tone arm which has a silicon damped lift has an arm tube constructed from aluminium with tone arm bearings comprising of inverted hardened stainless-steel points.

The Project Debut is a belt driven manual turntable, the steel platter is fitted with a felt mat and has low-tolerance chrome plated stainless-steel axle running on polished ball bearing in a brass bearing housing. The player is ready for use after removing the motor's transport fastener, fitting the platter and the anti-skating weight, without further adjustment. The Debut can be connected directly to a phono input; you will require a phono pre amp should your amplifier or receiver have only an auxiliary or tuner input.
