Rega Planar 6 Turntable is a project that took the great success of RP8 and RP10 turntables to the next level. It marks a new era for Rega turntables with the introduction of an ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core plinth. This new plinth is composed of a new material, where HPL (high pressure laminate) is sandwiched between.
HPL, being very thin but incredibly sturdy, is here in a lovely Polaris matt grey finish with a polished polymer black edge ââââââââââââââââtrim.

Theââââââââââââââââ Rega Planar 6 Turntable & Neo PSU is fundamentally a progression of the big hit RP8 and RP10 turntables. It has become the first Rega turntable in a while to feature an ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core (a material originally developed for the aerospace industry) inside the plinth.
Neo PSU â The Heartbeat of Precision
The Neo PSU uses the RP10 DSP (digital signal processing) generator built upon a high stability crystal. The DSP generator will divide the accurate signal from the crystal to the exact frequency required to turn the platter at the selected speed.
The DSP generator will also produce a near perfect sinusoidal waveform to drive the motor. This, along with an efficient drive amplifier. Generates a 24V AC balanced signal of less than 0.15% distortion. This then drives the turntables anti-vibration circuit.
