The Rega Planar 2 Turntable inc Nd3 Cartridge takes vinyl playback to the next level, with a hand-built RB220 tonearm with pre-fitted Rega Nd3 cartridge. An optiwhite glass platter, advanced EBLT drive belt and stiffened plinth in gloss black, white or red finishes add a level of detail to your audio system and listening experience.
Tonearm Design
The Rega Planar 2 features the hand-built RB220 tonearm with bespoke ultra-low-friction bearings. This allows the tonearm to pivot smoothly whilst the record plays. The lightweight tonearm integrates adjustable bias, which offers a wide range of compatible cartridges.
Cartridge
The Planar 2 includes the Rega Nd3 moving magnet cartridge pre-fitted, allowing you easy playability right out of the box. The handmade Nd3 cartridge features ultra-high-powered neodymium magnets for a unique design, along with an elliptical diamond stylus for greater detail. The Planar 2 is also available with Rega’s Carbon cartridge fitted, with a replaceable stylus.
Plinth and Motor
The Rega Planar 2 uses a solid MDF plinth in gloss black, gloss white, gloss red or walnut veneer finishes, creating a stiffer platform and improved appearance. An ergonomically located switch under the plinth gives you easy control. The central brass bearing provides improved fit and reduces stress on the main bearing. An asynchronous 24V motor offers better speed stability and low noise.
Platter
An Optiwhite heavy 10mm glass platter sits above the belt-driven sub-platter. Manufactured with a flywheel effect, the platter helps maintain rotational stability, ensuring a smooth performance from your vinyl collection.
