Highly skilled technicians meticulously hand-make each Rega Nd7 Moving Magnet Cartridge. The stylus profile is a fine line nude diamond, helping to extract the most from your vinyl. Made from polycrystalline manmade diamond, the stylus profile provides greater contact with the vinyl groove for exceptional levels of detail. The Nd7 Cartridge uses new generator geometry with perfect symmetry for precise channel balance. The Nd7 Moving Magnet also has an optimised pole gap, creating superior cross-talk character and linearity.
This provides a far wider soundstage than the previous models. This new cartridge is created with miniaturised parallel coils that Rega winds in-house using 38-micron wire with just 1275 turns. This method produces a low-impedance generator for improved treble response in the Nd7 Cartridge. Nd Magnet Technology
The Nd7 is the first moving magnet Cartridge to feature a Neodymium N55 magnet. These are often found in Moving Coil designs as a powerful magnet. The Nd7 cartridge uses this magnet to deliver more power than a standard bar magnet.
Glass Filled PPS Body
The Nd7 Cartridge features an injection-moulded, glass-filled polyphenylene sulphide body (PPS), a rigid and lightweight material. The low-mass body avoids stressing the tonearm bearings and allows for smooth movement, a crucial element of vinyl playback. Rega’s hugely successful MC range further inspired this new body design.
Cantilever & Stylus Profile
The Nd7 aluminium cantilever features a precision-perfect fine line nude diamond stylus. This diamond stylus provides outstanding tracking accuracy and extracts an increased amount of detail from the vinyl grooves.
Factory Fitted Options
The Rega Nd7 Cartridge is available as an option on the multi-award-winning Planar 6 and Planar 8 turntables. Designed specifically for these models, the Nd7 Cartridge extracts all the musical detail from your vinyl collection. These packages are available at a discount rate compared to purchasing separately.
Rega Rebuild Scheme
The unique pivot pad design of Rega Cartridges eliminates the mechanical joint between the body and stylus housing, improving overall performance. This improves the tracking ability of the stylus and its stability. If you wear out or damage your Rega cartridge, easily return it to your Rega dealer for a rebuild with new cantilever, stylus and pivot pad.
Each rebuild undergoes a full test like a new cartridge. Once you trade in your worn or damaged cartridge, the rebuild price is equivalent to a replacement stylus offered by other brands.
