The Rega Apheta 3 Cartridge in our opinion. Is an ambitious project for several years we have been developing state of the art diamond profiles of a “Fine Line” design mounted through 90 degrees. The same technique used in our Aphelion 2 reference model. This work has resulted in Apheta 3 extracting even more detail from the record groove which of course translates into more music.
Rega Apheta 3 Cartridge
Apheta 3 features a very high-power neodymium magnet and a coil that is extremely finely and carefully hand-wound on an iron cross. The latter being now half the size of the MK1 model.
The Apheta 3 has been housed in a totally different, single-piece, aluminum anodized case and is protected by a CAD-engineered, tinted, hard lid that shields the internal delicate wires. Thus making the fitting process safe and risk-free.

Neodymium Magnet System
Rega has developed a Moving Coil cartridge that stands out from the rest due to its method of achieving an ultra-low mass generator that is undamped (no tie wire) through the use of a unique rhomboid pivot for the cantilever backed up by a purpose designed. Exclusive to Rega, Neodymium magnet system.
That kind of a solution calls for a zero-tolerance engineered cartridge body which is Rega’s specialty. Thus the Apheta 3 bodies are finely crafted from a single piece of the top-quality aluminium.
A Unique Design
