Quad Artera Solus Play Systemis an all-in-one compact chassis that houses a CD transport, DAC, preamplifier, and 75W power amplifier. Plus it has a wide range of connectivity options such as Bluetooth wireless streaming. Besides the traditional CD playback, the Solus features 2 analogue inputs and five digital inputs. Which are able to handle 32-bit PCM data as well as DSD.
Quad Artera Solus Play System
The DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) has provided digital connectivity for various sources, through USB, optical, and coaxial. There are also analogue inputs for legacy sources and outputs, including XLR balanced. The smartphone Direct streaming is possible too, which is facilitated by the Bluetooth connection. Besides that, the system even has a top quality headphone output.
DTS Play Fi Music Streaming
DTS Play-Fi is a splendid, wireless control system that unifies all your devices under one ‘roof’. Grab the free app from the Apple Store (iOS), Google Play (Android), Kindle Fire or for your Windows PC and begin streaming all your favourite tunes.
Besides Internet radio, you get access to the best music apps such as Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music and Napster. Everything is here, for virtually unlimited music.
Outstanding Sound Reproduction
Central to its design is the Quad Artera Solus DAC featuring the ES9018 Sabre32 Reference, the world-famous 32-bit, eight-channel hybrid multi-bit Delta-Sigma DAC chipset. Which has been skilfully implemented by Quad’s team of highly skilled electronics engineers. The DAC’s outstanding quality can be enjoyed by external sources through various digital inputs. Allowing PCM data up to 32-bit/384kHz as well as DSD64/128/256.
The Quad Artera Solus Play System is a superb all-in-one system equipped with everything you need to enjoy your music. Featuring DTS Play-Fi, you can stream music effortlessly, and it’s also perfect for multi-room setups. The integrated CD player is perfect for playing your nostalgic CDs.

Connectivity
One of the Quad Artera Solus Play System main strengths is its customizable nature. The system provides analogue and digital input options and can work with various digital and analogue sources such as USB, coaxial, and optical. The digital DAC input helps connect the TV soundbar. While the analogue RCA inputs are a sure bet on connecting to turntables or other analogue technology.
Bluetooth
The computer, set-top box, or TV becomes the streaming client through its parent router. The Solus Play has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options and its Ethernet port to support the Internet of Things. Allowing the emitter follower to provide more current only when it is necessary. Results in a less complex current-limiting arrangement that may even be independent of voltage.
The microprocessor controls current limiting and it is programmed to permit the amplifier to deliver high currents (+/- 15A) into complicated loads. Thus, outperforming amplifiers that are larger and more powerful on paper.
300VA Toroidal Transformer
Having the emitter follower deliver additional current only when needed allows for a simpler current-limiting arrangement, which can be voltage independent. Current limiting is under microprocessor control and programmed to allow the amplifier to supply high currents (+/- 15A) into complex loads.
Surpassing amplifiers that are bigger and more powerful on paper. A 300VA toroidal transformer supplies the two mono amplifiers using separate secondary windings. Followed by 2x15000uF reservoir capacity per channel (60000uF in total).
Much effort has gone into the physical layout of the Quad Artera Solus Play System circuitry. With independent low-noise power supplies feeding all critical stages to keep interference to a minimum. The result is a performance on par with much more expensive multi-component hi-fi systems detailed, natural, expansive and dynamic in line with Quads continuing quest to deliver the closest approach to the original sound.
2 x 75 Watts Into 8 Ohms
The Quad Artera Solus Play System preamp and power amp stages incorporate balanced circuitry. Short and direct signal paths and high-quality components to preserve sonic purity. Outputting directly to the dual-mono Class AB power amp stage which delivers 2x75W into eight ohms. To minimise distortion, the power supplies for the left and right channels are isolated from each other as well as from the rest of the system.
