Compared to DVD or Blu-ray Disc players, a dedicated CD player is in many cases the best for the playback of stereo CDs. For instance, the CD Box S3’s drive allows the player to do 1:1 bit-accurate CD playback.
Sampling Rate 32bit/384kHz
The new DAC chip is capable of the best digital to analogue conversion with a bit depth & sampling rate up to 32bit/384kHz. The slot-in mechanism smoothly draws in the CD and, after a few seconds, it is ready to play.
For maximum flexibility and freedom, the S/PDIF coaxial output can be used to supply an external DAC. Therefore, you may want to allow your top-notch DAC to convert the perfectly transferred bit stream from the CD.
Supplied Remote Control
The Project CD Box DS3 CD Player introduces the new DS3 line of Project electronics. The case and styling remain the same, so you can combine the DS3 with existing DS2 line products. You can easily control the DS3 CD player with the front panel buttons or the supplied remote control. The high-contrast dot-matrix display shows you all the information from the CD, maximising your enjoyment.
Texas Instruments PCM1796 DAC
The Project CD Box DS3 CD Player uses the Texas Instruments PCM1796 DAC. Which is featured in many high-end CD players and has an analogue, easy-listening character. With an RCA line level output, the CD Box DS3 can connect to any amplifier, or two digital outputs can further pass on the signal to another DAC.
