The Ortofon 2M Blue Moving Magnet Cartridge have Ortofon’s signature split pole pins. A feature that allows moving magnet cartridges to have a flat frequency response, similar to a moving coil cartridge.
Ortofon came up with the Split pole pin concept which was initially released in the 500 series and Super OM series. The 2M Blue runs on an enhanced motor, which gives a higher output of 5.5mV. Based on the collaboration with Danish designer ‘MøllerJensen Design’.
The stylus can be replaced later and the body even has tapped screw threads. So you can just screw in the cartridge instead of messing around with nuts and bolts!
