Mission LX-5 MKII Floorstanding Speakers
The Mission’s LX series has been revamped to become the replacement of the aged LX Mk1 models. The entry-level range for home-theatre speakers by Missions seen significant improvement with a new driver design and technology feature.
The latter being of the state of the art, also constitutes a fresh range of finishes now. The remarkable performance of the LX mk2 range would surely appeal such audiophiles who are keen to have a high-quality sound experience.
Driver Design
Coming with a microfibre dome tweeter stuff Lew a lightweight 25mm dome tweeter driven by a neodymium magnet for the highest magnetic force where space is at a premium is the Mission LX-5 MKII. Each of the Lx-5 MKII’s two 6.5-inch woofers is made of incredible dual-layer fiber. Which is awesomely stiff for its size and fashioned for great self-damping.
Comb Tooth Separation
One of the key areas which were indicated by the creation of the Mission ZX and QX models was the use of serrations in the driver surrounds to help scatter interfering reflections from localised surfaces to the dome and cone.
Apparently, the Mission LX-5 MKII has taken the lead by adding these serrations to the driver surrounds. Which not only complements the drive unit outputs but also results in a smoother frequency response.
The fact is the Mission LX MKII creates a new product from the LX by not only bringing more clarity to the midrange and treble detail. But also by improving the micro-dynamics of the musical performance. Thus making the resulting experience even more exciting.
Deep Base
The Mission LX MkII Series has a new variation of the DiaDrive bass mid range driver unit of Mission’s. In which the traditional cone and dust cap set-up is substituted with one continuous curvilinear diaphragm.
Inverted Driver Geometry
Missions classic IDG (Inverted Driver Geometry) driver layout puts the tweeter underneath the bass/midrange driver which means that the length of the path is equalised so that the sound waves coincide at the listener’s ear level. A proprietary principle that enhances time alignment and consequently the transient performance of Mission speakers.
Peter Comeau, Mission’s lead acoustic designer. Has perfected the Mission LX MKII over hundreds of hours of critical listening. Mission LX MKII integrates trickle down innovations from the esteemed ZX series.
Low Frequency Diaphragm
The bass unit of the legendary Mission DiaDrive has been improved to provide greater control of the low-frequency diaphragm. While a fine-tuned high-frequency performance and a redesigned cabinet bracing system also contribute to creating a loudspeaker system that is a class apart in terms of price.
