As soon as I put the needle on the yellow vinyl, I knew it was going to be extraordinary.
The vibes of Lee “Scratch” Perry filled my room instantly. I felt like he took me back in time. Where reggae got its start thanks to some good old-fashioned creativity on his part. And what’s more is the curated selection here really shows off what dub can do. As both a genre and technique.
That said though, after hearing just one song off this record anyone would understand why people hold him up so high. Nobody else could ever make experimental soundscapes that grab your mind’s eye like this guy can. But you know what really knocked me out about it? Like now not only does my spinning teach but also uplifts
