The Down N Outz – Music Box (RSD 2020) Vinyl EPis an absolute gem of a recording. The album feels very much like the golden days of Britain rock music. It starts with great melodies. The beat feels solid and the instruments don’t have to fight for their space. In the case when it comes down to playing only the songs it does not change what is presented to you.
Down N Outz – Music Box (RSD 2020) Vinyl EP
Putting the needle you can immediately tell that it’s been designed for the mood you are in. It’s like a quick turn before you go or a super high energy song that can fit in the middle of a set of record nights.
One of the nice points of RSD 2021 (and probably of each label of the RSD family) is the fact that they give off that “take now or you loose forever!” vibe.
A Burst of Energy
If you are a record collector. You can figure out at a glance what’s in a record. How it Sounds on a Record. Rock music which is of the type of the kind that’s mentioned above is a good fit with vinyl as a medium.
The drum is one of the instruments on which you get a really big sound. In combination with the other aspects of the record the drums really lift the whole thing and give it a real punch.
A Taste of Authentic Rock
The guitar sound is bigger as a result of a larger number of layers being audible and it is also easier to separate these layers. Therefore the overall music listening will become much better. Music does not get compressed anymore to be loud. It spreads out naturally and makes you happy when you listen to it.
On digital versions, everything is compressed so you get all of the elements, the vocals, the drums, the guitar riffs. The bass.In a little squeezed together without space.

User Comment
I had no previous interest and just bought it on my way home from RSD. But it really rocked me out of my shoes that it caught me completely. The whole thing is really compact, powerful. You just cannot stop playing it.
I was really enjoying the vinyl for the guitars because of the impact. The EP format was ideal in that way I can have the music quickly without listening to a whole album in case I didn’t feel like it.
