The David Bowie – Let’s Dance Demo 45rpm 12 Inch Vinyl Single (RSD 2018) isn’t the big one you hear on the radio. It’s a more laid-back recording by David Bowie, kind of like the band before a rehearsal. It’s the kind of thing that will be like finding an unfinished canvas. That was not presented to the public before.

The size of the record will also be worth it. The longer grooves of your vinyl album will probably give you nice sound balance at the expense of longer playing time. Also, if your records are well pressed. A 45 rpm will reveal all the finest details very promptly and with a quick response.
You just have to take this as a collectors’ piece. It is also a listening record. The focus is on one song, the details.
Outstanding Sound Reproduction
For starters, it’s rough, direct and raw. The song is more skeletal in nature and finishes are less polished to a point that they may look as just lines or sketches from David Bowie’s notebook.
Another point you have to recall is that with a record player you rarely play from one side to the other. So a record with only one side is just fine. However, if you want to prolong the listening time. You may have to find another way of doing it since the record itself only has very limited playing time that can satisfy you.
But then again, a single like this is meant for you to enjoy it once. Not to be kept as a soundtrack of your life!

Summary of David Bowie – Let’s Dance Demo 45rpm 12 Inch Vinyl Single (RSD 2018)
Released as a double sided 12 inch 45 rpm the “Let’s Dance” demo is one of the few releases that was more than just a curiosity. It replaces one of the big stage performances by David Bowie’s workshop. This is all thanks to the format which preserves the sound quality of recordings.
It seems reasonable for the Bowie fans who want both the process and the product to have this one.
User Comment
The curiosity drove me to buy it and the feel of the music kept me. In this demo, David Bowie is portrayed not as a music icon but a human being who is still developing the piece of the music. When I played it at 45rpm, it delivered a clean and vibrant sound.
Although its playing time was very short. The quality was such that I always had that urge to play it again and again. It is the kind of sound that will make someone just put the needle down and stay put!
