It took us a long time to produce our first mains cable. We had experimented for years but couldnโt produce consistent results from system to system. It took the development and production of the Chord Signature speaker cable for us to understand how to make a power cable that would produce the same improvement regardless of the system.
The crucial area is the shielding, which needs to be effective to very high frequencies.
We heartily recommend all hi-fi owners experiment with the Chord Shawline mains power cable. High-frequency interference in the domestic environment is growing, and shielded power cables are an effective way of dealing with it. Borrow one from a Chord Company retailer and try it with your source component.
Itโs easy to hear what effective shielding can do and once youโve proved it to yourself there, try it with amplifiers and any other AV equipment.
