The Chord Electronics Hugo TT2 Desktop DAC and Headphone Amplifier is a headphone amplifier that Chord Electronics has developed. This fantastic product will transform the music in your computer into a sound that is as close to the original as possible with the least possible distortion.
Chord Electronics Hugo TT2 Desktop DAC and Headphone Amplifier
The digital-to-analog converter is a high-tech device that can convert an audio signal from a digital to an analog domain, providing top-notch quality. Thus far, it has been unknown to the music-loving community. Use this device to play your music and enjoy it as you have never before because the music becomes more lifelike and the sound cleaner than your usual music players.
Radical Redesign
Chord Electronics’ Hugo TT2 Desktop DAC and Headphone Amplifier has been radically redesigned from the ground up. It features beautiful new casework by Chief Designer John Franks. 5x the processing power of the original Hugo TT, and double that of the multi-award-winning Hugo 2. Hugo TT2 distils over 20 years of digital development by Rob Watts and takes advantage of the latest technology.
New Benchmark
As expected, it delivers radically improved technical specifications and measurements across the board and exhibits drastic sonic benefits over its predecessor with 768kHz PCM and DSD 512 playback. Hugo TT2 Desktop DAC sets a new benchmark in table top audio, only eclipsed by DAVE.
Custom Coded DAC
Delving deeper, in comparison to the 256-tap filters that traditional chip DACs may run at, Hugo TT2’s beating heart is a powerful Xilinx Artix 7 FPGA, custom-coded by Chord Electronics’ Rob Watts. It has 86x 208MHz cores running in parallel to create an advanced 16FS WTA 1 filter with 98,304 taps. Double that of its multi-award-winning transportable brother, Hugo 2 (49,152).
Hugo TT2 also benefits from an upgrade from a 4-element design to a 10-element design. Which works in harmony with the radically upgraded FPGA and code to deliver unrivalled audio.
Filter and Output Stage
A brand new high-power discrete output stage coupled with second-order noise-shaping integrated between the DAC output and filter is also employed to reduce distortion massively. Further improvements have also been made to the power delivery.
The Hugo TT2 Desktop DAC eschews the original’s Li-Po battery power supply and ushers in six supercapacitors capable of delivering huge, linear dynamic currents when the music demands them. Its peak output is 5A and 9.3V RMS.
Control Spheres
Chord Electronics’ Hugo TT2 also brings home the much loved four-stage user-selectable filter controls introduced with Hugo 2. It retains the three-stage user-selectable digital crossfeed function for headphone users who want to improve their depth perception, similar to speakers.
Enhanced Clarity
Chord Electronics’ Hugo TT2 is a DAC with sound quality considered the best in the audio production industry. The device incorporates individually created technology, but it does not deviate from the production line’s ultimate intention. The sound of the Hugo TT2 emanates a thick and warm vibe, which really ignites a person’s passion for listening. Also, there is hardly any other device that produces such a pleasant melody.
Great Elegance and High Performance
The Hugo TT2 not only performs well in terms of sound but also showcases finesse in terms of comfort and performance with various headphones and stereo systems. This handmade body has a very small footprint and can perfectly sit on any desktop table.
Plus, it results in an incredibly high power output that can offer intense support for the most demanding headphones. It is perfect for music lovers who require both simplicity and high performance.
