The Audioquest Pearl Ethernet Cable features high-purity Long-Grain copper conductors and Level 1 Noise-Dissipation for the most efficient dissipation of radio-frequency noise.
Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors
Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion. The Pearl Ethernet cable surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered a rail-guide for both the electric fields within it and the magnetic fields outside it.
LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, fewer impurities, and fewer grain boundaries while creating definitively better performance.
High Density Polyethylene Insulation
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is part of an imperfect circuit. Both wire insulation and circuit board materials absorb energy. They store some of this energy and then release it as distortion.
Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, High Density PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials. This helps the Pearl Ethernet maintain a pure signal.
CAT7 Ethernet
The Pearl Ethernet cable is certified CAT7, allowing 10-Gigabit Ethernet over 100m of copper cabling for optimum performance. All conductors are controlled for RF noise directionally.
