It was recorded by the band at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. In co-production with their longtime producer/collaborator, Jim Ford.

This album has a sort of summer pop vibe to it while most of the tracks were recorded out west on the west coast. It preserves only just a small amount (about “humbug'”s heaviness). “Suck it and see” features, yet again, major chords and the band writing rock songs the “classic” way, so to ​‍​‌‍​‍‌speak.
