Oppo UDP203 UHD Bluray Player
Oppo have built up quite a reputation over the years with their award winning UDP203 Bluray players. Build quality, reliability, flexibility, as well as excellent software support. General presentation of Oppo products upon unboxing is rarely seen in this industry. The Oppo UDP203 UHD Bluray player is no exception to this.
The home screen gets a freshen up with some beautifully detailed landscapes. Menus remain the same, albeit with a distinct lack of video streaming apps like Netflix. Build quality is up to their usual excellent standard. Connections are identical to the BDP103, only losing the front HDMI input in comparison to the BDP103. The disc drawer and display are now central rather than side by side. The remote remains the same, but with the addition of an on/off HDR button.
Oppo teamed up with MediaTek to produced a unique ‘System on Chip’ operating system for their new UHD player. This bespoke chip is not available on any other current UHD players. Dolby Vision will not be supported at launch, but will be in the future via a later firmware update.
