The Onkyo TXSR508 AV Receiver can decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio - two lossless formats that enable delivery of a bit-for-bit soundtrack identical to the studio master track. These codecs, previously available on the mid-range and high-end receivers, take advantage of the high data capacity of the Blu-ray format. The Onkyo TX SR 508 also handles two "lossy" audio formats: Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio. Dolby Digital Plus is designed to accompany high-definition video delivered via disc media, broadcasts and online content.
The Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 Loudspeaker System is an ultra-compact 5.1 speaker system that brings a new level of style and substance to the fast-growing surround sound home entertainment category. The Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 Loudspeaker System allows users to enjoy rich, room-filling surround sound with their home entertainment systems, while complementing virtually any décor in a stylish yet subtle (even virtually unnoticeable, if desired) manner.
The Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 cinema system's five ultra-compact and stylish SoundWare XS satellites are real two-way speakers (unlike many competitors). Each Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 speaker features a high-performance 2½-inch (64mm) woofer and a ½-inch (13mm) tweeter. The contoured-rectangle subwoofer, coloured to match the satellites in either black or white, features a 100-watt (250 watts peak) amplifier and 8-inch (203mm) driver. Wall brackets are included for easy installation of all five satellite speakers.
