As Onkyo's new flagship home network receiver, the Onkyo TX-NR5009 AV Network Receiver packs the ultimate in clean power, precise processing, and abundant connectivity. Power is delivered through a massive toroidal transformer and multiple transformers for A/V processing, with the chassis encased in separate panels to reduce vibrations. Gold-plated HDMI® terminals, speaker posts, and A/V inputs speak to build quality of the highest order. Video output from the Onkyo TX-NR5009 benefits from advanced HQV® Vida™ processing, ISF video calibration, and 4K upscaling via Qdeo™ technology. Audio, meanwhile, is processed via high-end 192 kHz/32-bit TI Burr-Brown DACs, with support for DSD Direct from SACD and DTS Neo:X™surround-sound processing. Audyssey MultEQ® XT32 gets the most out of movie and game soundtracks and fills your music with energy and pure musicality. As your all-purpose switching centre, the TX-NR5009 includes eight 3D-ready HDMI inputs, 9.2-multichannel pre-outs, and an Ethernet port for internet radio and PC audio. The Onkyo Remote App for iPod touch/iPhone*1 and the Onkyo Remote App for Android*2 both provide an intuitive way to operate Onkyo network A/V receivers. At your fingertips, you have the ability to control input sources, adjust settings, and enjoy your content more seamlessly than ever. The two Remote Apps are available separately as free downloads.

The Onkyo TXNR5009 Network AV Receiver features separate aluminium panels for the sides and front to reduce unwanted vibrations caused by internal resonance. Compared to a one-piece chassis design, this construction method offers greater rigidity and improved noise reduction.

Linking directly to the internet or to a media server or home PC via a local network, the TX-NR5009 takes streaming audio and internet radio to a whole new level. MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, FLAC, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, and LPCM audio files can now be played back through your main system with unprecedented power and fidelity. The TX-NR5009 also brings to life a huge array of internet radio channels from Last.fm and vTuner, plus on-demand music streaming from Napster, Spotify, and AUPEO!*. As well as being compatible with earlier platforms, the receiver is compatible with Microsoft's Windows® 7 platform, which includes the DLNA 1.5-specified "Play To" media-streaming feature. The TX-NR5009's internet connectivity has the added benefit of making firmware updates simpler than ever.

The Onkyo TX-NR5009 Home Cinema Receiver employs Qdeo technology from Marvell to achieve full 4K (3840 x 2160) upscaling of 1080p video sources-even sources that have been upscaled to 1080p from lower resolutions by on-board HQV Vida technology. Played back on a compatible wide-screen display, your Blu-ray Discs and other high-definition content will look more detailed and cinematic than ever.

The Onkyo TX NR 5009 is one of the first receivers in the world to feature DTS Neo: X, a new technology that offers a multitude of ways to set up the speakers in a 9.1-channel home cinema system. A basic 5.1-channel set-up can be complemented by one of three different arrangements: (1) You can add surround back and front-height speakers to bring out ambient, non-directional sounds; (2) You can add surround back and front-wide speakers to provide a more expansive soundstage; or (3) You can add front-height and front-width speakers to create an immersive space without needing to install rear speakers.
