The Nordost 4 Flat Speaker cable is identical in its thin, flat construction to the Nordost 2 Flat but is doubled up to facilitate neat and simple bi-wiring/bi-amping. With increasingly high performance amplifiers and bi-wired loudspeakers being used in home theater systems 4Flat is the obvious choice for a neat and unobtrusive, high quality cable installation.

The Nordost 4 Flat speaker cable is a unique, ultra flat, extruded speaker cable that is thinner than a credit card. It consists of four rectangular, solid, OFC conductors extruded with a white FEP jacket. The Nordost 4 Flat speaker cable has very low inductance and capacitance because of its flat construction.

The excellent sound quality and low signal loss of the Nordost 4 Flat make it ideal for both hi-fi and home theatre applications, where long runs for surround channel speakers are required to be discrete, yet offer high performance. Its extremely hard-wearing FEP jacket makes it the perfect choice for installation under carpets and floor coverings, even in high traffic areas.

All pre-cut cables are factory fitted with low mass 4mm banana plug made from Beryllium copper which is hard gold plated (as illustrated). The low mass design preserves the low capacitance and inductance characteristics of the cable at the termination point and minimizes signal reflections back into the cable.

Nordost's design mandate is to minimize electrical interactions within the cable, but this goal is difficult to achieve; for example, inductance and capacitance are opposing electrical forces, with the result that reducing one tends to increase the other. The only way to win this "Juggling Act" is with a series of parallel, conductors, and the distinctive array that makes Nordost speaker cables both unique and instantly recognizable. But Nordost's flat cables aren't just beautiful to behold. The proprietary extrusion process that allows the extremely precisely spaced production of parallel conductor groups also employs FEP as an insulator, an incredibly tough, fire-resistant, low-loss insulator that makes the cables ideal for tucking under carpets, even in high traffic areas.

These cables are terminated as Bi-wire configurations with BFA Z 4mm plugs. Standard Shotgun and Bi-Amp configurations are available at extra cost.
