Mordaunt-Short Avant Architect In wall speakers have optional back boxes available. The Mordaunt Short BX161 back box features a self-sealing cable entry grommet at each end and the entire Mordaunt Short BX161 back box is gasketed for a consistent volume enclosure.

These custom-designed units are supplied with acoustic wadding which increases the apparent volume of the cabinet, controls standing waves and adds a primary layer of damping to the acoustic enclosure. The Mordaunt Short BX161 back box surface features a water resistant coating to facilitate installation in almost any environment.

Each Mordaunt Short back-box is uniquely developed to a defined volume to match its Avant Architect equivalent so that for example BX162 fits with AW162. This all helps to create a consistent sound from each speaker.
