The speakers are equipped with KEF's patented Uni-Q driver and the braced magnesium/aluminum alloy cone provides outstanding midrange response. The audio center of the midrange cone contains the very elegant vented tweeter which provides the HF response of a lot of KEF's high end speakers.

The speakers also feature a 5.1" bass/mid driver which offers an outstanding performance. With excellent dynamic and power handling, the aluminum voice coil featuring a light, rigid and sturdy hybrid cone offers deep and clear bass output. The crossovers which are designed using the latest technology permit the level of each driver to be fine-tuned in order to get a flatter, smooth response. The guarded later damping panel protects cabinet vibration from muddying the mid-range and bass.

The KEF R Series R100 Speakers consist of top-grade metal and multiway binding posts. The speakers also feature dual inputs for bi-wiring, plain black grilles which locate themselves on their own with the help of internal magnets.
