The Bowers and Wilkins 803 Diamond D3 Speakers still produces the same astounding sound quality as its larger counterparts, but just in a smaller, more place able size. After 8 years of research and development, Bowers and Wilkins have found a better performing core than Kevlar®, and that is Continuum. This is the best cone they have developed yet and that is due to the core reducing and getting rid of the sharp and sudden changes in sound and behaviour that can be heard when listening to music or watching films. The new cones construction means it has a smoother, more neutral sound.
The Bowers and Wilkins 803 Diamond D3 Speaker features a diamond dome tweeter which is then stored in a solid piece of aluminium. Due to it being extremely stiff yet very light make it the best tweeter material researched and developed so far. All these things allow the domes to produce crystal clear sound, with extreme precision, openness and detail to whatever kind of source you're playing through them.
The head unit, or Turbine Head, is on top of the speaker and is produced from a single piece of aluminium that is fixed with internal radial fins so it's stable yet has as minimal contact with the cabinet as possible. The reasoning behind this is so that there is no cabinet distortion that can be caused, as it's almost totally inert.
