Naim Audio have announced a hard disk player / server called the UnitiServe. It allows direct 'bit for bit' ripping from CD to it's onboard 1.5TB hard drive, and includes a UPnP audio server within it's small, half width "HiCap sized" box. The UnitiServe is a derivative of Naim's HDX HDD / CD player, sharing much of the technology used in one of the best HDD CD players available.
The UnitiServe will support high resolution audio up to 24 bit/192kHz, and most audio formats (WAV/AIFF/FLAC/OGG/AAC/WMA/MP3), and can be controlled by the existing Naim HDX control App for the iPod Touch / iPhone.
There is also a UnitiServe SSD, which removes the internal HDD drive and will assign ripped CD's to an external NAS drive.
I have full specs here, so if there's any specifics anyone wants to know, feel free to ask!
The UnitiServe will be available from June 2010.
