With regards to audio playback, speakers are the point at which the processing and transmission of data culminate into the production of vibrations in the air and connect your senses with the technology.
However, the nature of speaker construction often leads to a large, imposing piece of equipment which leaves us in a position where we have no choice but to choose speakers based both on their audio performance and aesthetic appeal.
Here are 4 examples of speakers that even interior designers would be delighted to include in their designs.
- KEF Blade Two
The KEF Blade Two speakers boast a signature shape and style which both lend them to a fantastic aesthetic and excellent sound quality. More suited to rooms where minimalism or simplicity is the chosen theme, these speakers lend themselves to being the feature of the room both audio-wise and visually.
- ProAc K6 Speakers
ProAc K6 speakers feature a design that aims to fit seamlessly into a room where wood or wood-effect designs have been used. The high quality finish of the speakers mean that the option to place them in a position where they will be visually dominant is entirely possible. Alternatively, their well-defined shape means it’s not impossible to ensure they modestly complement the accompanying furniture and fittings.
- Bowers and Wilkins CM10 S2 Speakers
The design of the Bowers and Wilkins CM10 S2 speakers are visually striking, especially with the use of colour on the uppermost cone. These speakers lend themselves to an interior where dark colours and silk finishes are used but also where a subtle or modest contrast with the surroundings isn’t necessary. These speakers feature well in a position of dominance and can easily play the role of the visual focus in the room whilst being a fantastic piece of audio equipment.
- Tannoy Precision 6.4 Speakers
Much like the Bowers and Wilkins speakers in this post, these speakers are slightly more subtle in their design, but not at the expense of style and functionality. The four cones do feature a contrasting colour against the black but consistency throughout makes for a less imposing effect.
