The smallest high-resolution in Audiolab's range, the M-DAC Mini furthers the success of the M-ONE range. Blurring the lines between home hi-fi DACs and small, portable DAC units, the M-DAC Mini is ideally sized to sit both neatly on a desk or table, and within the pocket of your jacket. The buttons on the M-DAC Mini are accessible and easy to use; these buttons are also paired with a more traditional analogue volume knob. The internal space of this DAC allows for the inclusion of discreet audiophile-grade components in key circuits.
This DAC is equipped to process PCM audio data up to 32-bit/384kHz via USB, which will ensure that it is primed to take full advantage of high-res digital sound. The USB input will support DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256, which is a significant inclusion, as DSD plays an important role to play in the development of high-resolution audio. The M-DAC Mini includes a high quality analogue potentiometer like those that can usually be found in full-size hi-fi separates.
The M-DAC Mini combines advanced Digital-to Analogue conversion with a high-performance Class A JFET output stage and dedicated headphone amp section. These deliver outstanding sound no matter whether they are hooked up to an amp and speakers, or being used with active speakers, or driving a set of headphones.
The battery in the M-DAC Mini has not been included merely for portability, but it also benefits the performance of the device. The battery supplies clean and stable DC power that is free from the distortion that is commonly found by switch-mode power supplies, without the need for a bulky and costly audiophile-grade mains PSU. A mains charger comes included, which, when connected, will provide charging power to all iOS and Android devices directly through the M-DAC Mini.
