Analogue Amplifier

A Class AB discrete amplifier delivering 50 watts per channel into 8 Ohms is used inside the 6000A Play. Complementary Feedback topology is used on the output stage of the discrete amplifier, whilst a large 200VA toroidal transformer in sequence with four 15000µF reservoir capacitors maintains a solid grip on the music, providing excellent dynamic range. To preserve signal purity, the pre-amp section is kept as simple as possible, in order to eliminate as much noise as possible. Independent low noise power supplies for each critical stage also help to deliver a clean and sonically true performance that can rival higher end analogue amplifiers.

Digital Streaming

The Audiolab 6000A Play adds wireless streaming to the 6000A amplifier, using the same high spec DAC as in the Audiolab 6000A, the ESS Sabre 9018, handling digital file resolution up to 24-bit/192 kHz. Audiolab have been using this DAC chip since its first implementation in the M-DAC in 2011, and have been honing its use since.

Featuring DTS Play-Fi technology, a 24-bit DAC and a Wi-Fi connection, the Audiolab 6000A Play makes network streaming easy, with flawless playback performance through wireless connection. Stream all your music through any music service, and connect over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or the DTS Play-Fi for endless options. With DTS Play-Fi Technology, the 6000A Play is capable of multi-room playback, connecting with other DTS Play-Fi enabled systems to stream music wirelessly throughout your home. All controllable through an app, use your smartphone or tablet to choose your music.

Additional Features

The 6000A Play contains a Moving Magnet phono stage, using high quality, low-noise JFET circuitry, offering precise RIAA equalisation. Simply connect your turntable to the phono input and begin listening right away. Another feature included is the dedicated headphone amplifier, delivering a dynamic and detailed reproduction, with all types of headphones. The 6000A Play has four analogue RCA connections, as well as optical and coaxial inputs for digital sources.

The Audiolab 6000A Play features the same modern design as the rest of the 6000 series, and is available in black or silver finishes.
