-Arcam Solo Muso Speakers (Single)

The Arcam Solo Muso Loudspeaker has been designed to complement the Solo Music System. With the same audiophile quality of sound and a design that has been made to fit seamlessly within the pleasing aesthetic of the rest of the Solo range.

A proprietary paper-pulp and fibre sandwich cone is houses within the main drive unit, as a result producing a light yet stiff cone. The drive unit's die cast chassis has been used instead of the more commonly used and much more cheaply constructed steel chassis, allowing for thinner supporting structures that work to allow sound to pass from the back of the speaker cone and into the inside of the cabinet with ease, as well as reducing any sound reflecting back to the cone and causing distortion.

The cabinet itself contains speaker wadding that further dampens internal reflections and increases the apparent volume by slowing air movement and extending the low frequency response. The walls of the cabinet are also lined with adhesive vibration damping material, used to drastically reduce sound being radiated from the cabinet.

The pure aluminium dome tweeter that is included in the Arcam Solo Muso passes sound from the tweeter both forwards and backwards, just like the main driver. When travelling backwards the sound will reach the back surface of the tweeter and, from there, it is radiated into the cabinet. The rear surface of the tweeter is damped in order to combat this, and the result is a significant reduction of distortion and a drastic improvement in clarity of sound, especially in the fine details.

The front facing port allows the Muso Solo Loudspeaker to be used close to walls with no interference with the port response. Achieving bass response with no "chuffing" require a long port of large cross sectional area. As the Muso's cabinet does not have the space required for this long port, the port has been bent internally and is custom moulded with thick slide walls to ensure it is able to support itself with minimal vibration even when the volume is excessively loud.
