The Acoustic Energy Reference 1 speakers have had an extreme amount of thought gone into them as Acoustic Energy try to improve upon every aspect involved in current speaker design. They've developed the cabinet from a specially designed 7mm MDF/ 3mm high density rubber/ 5mm MDF sandwich so there is the smallest amount of resonance and external cabinet noise possible.
The mid/ bass driver features a massive underhung motor assembly so it can be as controlled and have as much accuracy as possible. Acoustic Energy have used the well-known Vifa Ring radiator tweeter in their own custom setup, coupled to their DXT® Lens assembly for the best dispersion and in-room response possible. These things all combine together to make a speaker that can reproduce true sound that's balanced, with a wide dispersion and minimal distortion.
