The History of Audioengine

Audioengine is a company that has made significant strides in the world of audio equipment since its inception. Founded in 2005 by Brady Bargenquast and Dave Evans, two veterans of the professional audio industry, the company has built a reputation for producing high-quality, versatile, and accessible audio products for music lovers worldwide. This brief history of Audioengine will explore the company's journey from its humble beginnings to its current status as a leading manufacturer of audio solutions.

The Founding and Early Years (2005-2007)

Brady Bargenquast and Dave Evans, both with extensive experience in the fields of audio engineering, design, and production, decided to create a company that would focus on producing top-notch audio products for everyday consumers. They noticed a gap in the market for products that catered to the growing demand for affordable, high-quality audio solutions. And so, Audioengine was born.

In 2005, Audioengine introduced its first product, the A5 powered speakers. These speakers were designed with simplicity in mind, offering users an easy-to-install, all-in-one solution for their audio needs. The A5 speakers were met with great acclaim, receiving rave reviews from both consumers and industry experts alike. This early success helped the company gain a foothold in the market and solidified its commitment to producing innovative audio products.

Expansion and Innovation (2008-2012)

As Audioengine continued to grow, they expanded their product line, releasing the A2 powered speakers in 2008. These smaller, yet still powerful, speakers were specifically designed for use with desktop computers and smaller living spaces. The company also began to venture into the world of wireless audio, launching the W1 and W2 wireless audio adapters, which allowed users to transmit audio from their computers to their speakers without the need for cables.

In 2011, Audioengine introduced the D1 24-bit DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) and headphone amplifier, providing an affordable, high-quality solution for those looking to improve their computer and home audio setups. This product marked the company's entry into the digital audio market.

Wireless Revolution and Continued Growth (2013-Present)

Recognizing the growing trend of wireless audio and the convenience it offers, Audioengine continued to develop and expand its wireless product offerings. In 2013, they launched the B1 Bluetooth Music Receiver, enabling users to stream music from their Bluetooth-enabled devices to their existing audio systems. This was followed by the release of the HD3 Wireless Speakers in 2016, which combined the company's signature sound quality with the convenience of wireless connectivity.

In recent years, Audioengine has continued to innovate and expand its product line-up, introducing the HD6 Premium Powered Speakers, the 512 Portable Wireless Speaker, and the A1 Home Music System. They have also ventured into the world of headphones with the release of the A2+ Wireless Headphones.

Despite the increasing competition in the audio market, Audioengine remains committed to its core values of providing high-quality, accessible audio solutions for a wide range of consumers. With a solid foundation in both the professional audio industry and the consumer market, Audioengine is poised to continue its growth and maintain its position as a leader in the world of audio equipment.
