I have a Pioneer Lx85 which I am trying to use in a multi room setup to transmit Sky TV to another room. I have 1 HDMI cable into my Lounge Tv ( zone 1) and another into a kitchen TV which runs through the wall, outside and then back through the wall some 8 metres away (zone 2). I have already discovered ( I think) that I cant output two different resolutions (1080p to the lounge and 720p to the kitchen) but I cant even seem to get the sound through the HDMI without switching the Amp generated sound off in the main room.
Any ideas? Am I trying to do something which isn't really what the duals zones are meant for?
Hmm I think the 2nd HDMI out isn't actually meant for a 2nd zone Looks like a made a mistake!

I've not tried it as it's not something I've ever nessed about with, but you could try setting the Pioneer's HDMI's to "auto" for their resolution, which means it'll pass through what its given.
Sky only generates 1080i anyway, so you could run a component cable instead of the HDMI. Many receivers can use a component output as a second zone. Obviously you'll need to run an audio cable too.

I think that may be what I need to do... I've got the video running ok to both sources but I can't get the sound to be passed through the HDMI to either TV AND through the amp at the same time. Very annoying!!!
Thinking about running an HDMI splitter off my sky box instead of using the pioneer amp. Anyone know if they are any good or can recommend a particular brand?
