Nope, never heard any AKG headphones, TBH, not really heard many at all, apart from quick listens to the Grado 60 and 80 in the shop.

Yeah, its the only way I would be able to get out of the renting 'circle of death' in the next 10 years or so!

Love it, had a whole night of music yesterday, makes such a difference having a decent room and some space for the hifi!

Just need to get the HT stuff set up now!

Yes the renting thing is evil , why people do it is beyond me , but you have done the correct thing it may be hard to start with but it gets easier , I have had my house five years now and it is the best thing I ever did.

Well the main reason people do rent, and why I did, as its so hard to save up money for a deposit when you are renting, unless you earn A LOT or live with someone else earning.
I have only managed to get money for deposit through inheritance (and my dad) otherwise I would still be paying over half my income (and about 2/3rds as it was before) on rent per month!

The only way you can save up now, is like a lot of my mates, is by staying at home and working full time. I did not have this luxury!

I did that , but I was paying rent as well but not as much as you said in the thread , doing this way does help.

Yeah it killed me paying just under £1k/month for rent  Although I was getting at least a little of that back from my ex when she was living there.

New amp

Image

Decware Zen SE84CW with a massive 2wpc SET, and stable down to 2 Ohms

Does not look quite as nice as this, but essentially the same with a different rectifier tube. 8-)
Here is the current slightly higher spec version- http://www.decware.com/newsite/SE84C.htm

2wpc into 80db/1m speakers, should be interesting

Enjoy those low powered amps while you're young - when you get to my age you'll need a Bryston
