Well, after England's opening match, what do you think?
I felt we got very sloppy after France scored, which continued until half time. We weren't tight enough, and lacked precision.
We'll see what the second match throws up...

Losing the ball a little too much, but decent first half.

I see the Italians are doing their best to bring the opposing team down - quite literally, dragging them to the ground!

That first half was shameful.
Here we have a team of severely overpaid nonces that don't deserve to be chosen to represent our country in a game that we should be in the top 5 for in the world. They're allowed to rake in hundreds of thousands/millions in sponsorship ON TOP of their obscene wages, and yet they can't even get ONE attempt on goal in the first 45 minutes!!
If I was Roy Hodgson, Rooney wouldn't be starting the second half, and I'd be seriously looking at the team after a performance like this. Ireland looked like they wanted it against Italy, but I can't say the same thing for England tonight.

Second half was no better really. We may have won, but we're lucky their goal went unnoticed. I'm so angry a the moment, and have been throughout most of the match. Not because it was a "will we/won't we win", but because these so called professionals are getting paid huge sums of money to play crap, and do it under our noses too.

Simple, dont watch it then Dave.
Leave the football to the supporters.
I for one am pleased with the outcome, we did not play as well as we could but I did not think we played badly. Remember Ukraine's attempts on goal were mainly shots from outside the area. I think the team has potential, we played really well against Sweden apart from the opening 20min in the second half. What we really need to do is convert that organisation and defensive back line into a slightly more aggressive tacking tactic. Try to win the 1st and 2nd ball, get a foot in rather than just holding back and maintaining the shape.

Oooooh!! You shouldn't need to be a hardened football fan to expect overpaid players to represent us in the Euro and World Cups and actually make it look as though we have a professional football team! Last night was a joke.

Did you watch the game at all? I thought we looked very professional. Not the silky smooth and speed of Spain but well organised and decent. More that could be said from recent years. We should have added 2-3 more with the couter attacks and Rooneys header in the first half. Had we had goal line technology, the Ukraine goal would have been ruled out anyway for offside. Swings and Roundabouts.

Germany had better make a comeback here - otherwise Mauro isn't going to shut up tomorrow!
