Wait til you start firing .762 on the 200yd and 500yd ranges. That's great fun. Used to love doing that as a teenager at Kibworth and Bisley.

Ummm yes love to, expensive though hence the Air Rifle idea, any luck I am going to the states this year will be getting my uncle to take me and the contents of his gun cabinet down to a range.

Have sent you some info in the mail.

Re what your son can handle... If you only shoot at Kibworth or if your lucky enough, your own back garden in prone position he should be able to handle anything as he wont be holding the weight of the gun. He will grow into a bigger gun. Shooting with a Pre-Charged Pneumatic is very easy and no recoil. The gun will, as you may have already seen, rest on a large cushion/s or rolled up blanket or indeed whatever you fancy resting it on that will protect the stock from scratches.

I confess to being the only one that is sad to let the rifle go as it is a pretty lovely thing. The reality of it is why keep it if it is just going to sit hiding in a cupboard for ever and a day just because!!

Like a loved pet or something you value for several reasons yet have to let it go, you want it to go to a good home where it's new owner/s will look after it with loving care that it desrves.

I'm sure you understand.

My Son will be able to shoot anything from a Table as you say, what I have been thinking about is that I will be doing HFT comps at Kibworth maybe elsewhere and I would hope he might join me now and again, this would mean he will need to at least be able to aim standing even if he is not that accurate so Gun choice is important one, Me as primary but JP as a consideration in selection, any luck he can pick up a standard 400/410, we will see on Saturday, I may look out for a really cheap 200 or similar but I will not do this unless I know he will join me fairly regularly.

Have you thought about shooting your sons gun? The Comps and people seem really friendly, I have already had 2 people on a forum offer to loan me kit if i want to shoot a comp before I get kit of my own, Like archery you do not need to be competitive to have fun it seems really social.

I like to cook. Came to it late. Not really through choice. Living on my own I got fed up with takeaways so I picked up a ken hom wok book and video and never looked back. Started with chInese. Now I'm into my Italian phase though I'm no expert. Just made some garlic bread. so much better than the crap sold in tesco.

Yep I love to cook. Its so much fun yum yum

Yeah I did think about the standing position, the S410 was too heavy for my lad standing (aged 12). It takes a while to get used to the proper stance for stability in aiming, we kind of didnt go there due to the seating arangement at Kibworth. One that you will find fun getting used to I'm sure. So yep he will need a lighter gun without a doubt for that method of shooting.

Re me shooting my sons gun.. to be fair no, as it is respectfully his gun. Although he wouldnt mind but hey thats jus me and it would be awkward especially as he spends his weekends with me and the only time we can go is Sunday.

Glad you have found the same freindliness as we found at Kibworth, its a shame we live so far away from there.

Its a pitty our more local ground isnt the same as Kibworths. You can only shoot there if you pay a membership fee of almost £200 per year for both of us and there the attitude is very different..saddly. They guy in charge was helpull to begin with but changed after we paid for membership, after that we were on our own dammitt!

At that ground it is a case of those with mega expensive guns (£1000 +) shoot on the left side of the range at the better targets and the casual shooters with 'cheap' guns shoot over there on the right at the boring old naff ones!

We discovered that attitude early on when my lad asked me if he could have a go on the 'better' side of the range.

I said yeah why not no ones there at the moment. So we eased slightly over the dividing line so he could shoot at a dificult distant target. He took em all out first shot each time but was swiftly told that he cant shoot there and had to move back over the other side!!!!
No encouraging compliments on his talent either... maybe this guy felt put out that a twelve year old could shoot so well, who knows but it did put me off with that kind of attitude. I doubt he would have benefited much from shooting there, least not in the same advisory and helpfull way the members are at Kibworth.

Such a pity as it is a much nicer and bigger range than Kibworths, rimfire is also permitted there on certain weekends, now they are a stuffy lot I can tell you! They have the ground to themselves on certain weekends. We arrived not knowing they were shooting there one afternoon and got the oddest looks as if to say WTF are you doing here!. The police also use it for 'real life' training as well.

I am impressed, honestly I am. Too many single folks rely on nasty ready made meals costing several times more than a dish prepared from fresh ingredients and cooked by yourself. Lets face it no ready meal ever tasted any where near as good as one cooked by your own fair hands.

They have 2 ranges at Kibworth now not hugh but they are opening a 3rd at Easter, I think the comps may be on a separate area so don't interfere with range but not sure about that one.

Thanks Pedro. My son likes it too. You should see him shoot into the kitchen when he smells stuff. It's the easiest and fastest way to get him off Xbox  like the bisto kid

Ps. Never knew a women yet who hasn't moved easily to the bath or bed after cooking ;)

So what is your favourite Chinese meal that you like to cook?

Oh and do you by any chance have a Chinese grocery store near you?

Ps: I can second your comment re women being cooked for working as an afrodisiac thing ;) Although it all seems a distant memory now :)

Favourite?

Hunan style lamb is nice
Lots of various fried rice. It's so easy
Just did some garlic egg fried rice and chucked a tin of white chicken with it. Easy. Jake likes it. I reallly need to look at my own chicken but its a goto when pressed for to
etc

Yes Chinese grocery. Biggest in southwest I think. They're a distributor.
