ATC on demo

Image
We’ve been dealing with ATC for a year and a half now, and after enjoying healthy sales of the SCM7, 11, 19, and 40’s, we thought we’d branch out a little and have now added the C1c centre speaker and C1 subwoofer. So instead of demonstrating an SCM7 or 11 as a makeshift centre, we can now demonstrate a full 5.1 or 7.1 ATC speaker systems.

So this brings our tally of hi-fi AV packages up to 11, uncluding KEF iQ, KEF XQ, KEF Reference, MA Bronze, MA Silver RX, MA Gold GS, MA Platinum PL,B&W 600 series, B&W CM series, Neat Motive plus many variants on those 11 packages (and that’s not including numerous lifestyle AV packages we have on demo). And with ProAc and PMC to be added to this tally shortly, there’s not much reason to visit any other retailer when choosing a home cinema speaker package, because we have the best under a single roof, ready for you to listen to at your leisure, on AV amplifiers and receivers from the likes of Arcam, Pioneer, Yamaha, Onkyo, Denon, and Marantz.

Monitor Audio Apex

After the launch at the Bristol Show, I can now post up details of Monitor Audio’s new Apex home cinema range.

The Apex AW12 subwoofer has been available for a short while now, and sits between the RXW12 and GSW12 pricewise. The cabinet differs a little in that ithas rounded edges, creating a softer look than many other ‘packaged’ subs. There’s no screws, bolt heads or grille holes visible, just smooth clean lines, which means it doesn’t attract attention to itself, and looks a little more pleasing to the eye than many others that can be mentioned. It uses Monitor Audio’s own C-CAM 12″ long throw bass driver, driven by a Class D digital amplifier providing 500 watts (1000 watts peak) of clean power down to 21Hz. It utilises a sealed cabinet which provides a smoother in room bass response, ensures a quicker bass than many ported designs, and is easier to integrate in many rooms.
