3D TV NOW ON DEMO IN STORE!!

We are pleased to announce that Frank harvey Hi-Fi now have 3D TV on demonstration in store!

We have the Panasonic TXP50VT20 50″ plasma on demo with the DMPBDT300 3D Bluray player in our ground floor Bose room along with the new Bose Unify Lifetsyle V25 and V35 systems.

Initial impressions are positive. We can’t imagine plasmas getting any better as far as quality is concerned, whether 2D or 3D. The supplied 3D disc produces some stunning images, and certain parts are so lifelike you can almost feel the textures.

Feel free to pop in and have a look for yourself away from the usual big electrical stores where TV’s will be fed by split links – experience the best from one of the finest plasma TV’s currently available, fed directly from the Bluray player.

Photos to follow.

Yamaha Bluray Player and 3D Receivers

Yamaha are adding two new receivers to their current line up.

Image

The 7.2 channel RXV667 supports the usual HD audio formats, uses Yamaha’s own YPAO room equalisation and Scene feature, with 1080p upscaling. It also uses Yamaha’s DSP 3D mode, which with front effect speakers produces a much larger soundstage than normal AV receivers. Six HDMI inputs (useable when in standby) should cover enough sources for most people, and with full 7.2 pre-outputs and 7.1 input, it will also incorporate upgrading by adding a multi channel power amplifier, or adding sources with their own internal decoding.

The RXV667 retails for £449.

Image
The RXV767 adds a second HDMi output in order to run two displays. There is also an audio input assign capability for HDMI and component inputs for added versatility.

The RXV767 retails for £599

The new YDS12 iPod dock can be added to take full advantage of iPods, and the YID-W10 adds wireless transfer of music from an iPod. Audio streaming is possible via the YBA10 wireless audio receiver. All of these can be used with the above AV receivers.

Image
Yamaha are also introducing a new Bluray player, the BDS667. Fully compatible with BD Live and Bonus View, the player will also play Jpeg HD, WMV, MP3, DivX HD, and is fully DNLA Client compliant. The player is a full1080p/24Hz output, and it’s HDMI output is full Deep Colour compatible. The player has a front mounted USB port for video/audio playback of external memory devices.

The BDS667 retails for £299

ATC on demo

Image
We’ve been dealing with ATC for a year and a half now, and after enjoying healthy sales of the SCM7, 11, 19, and 40’s, we thought we’d branch out a little and have now added the C1c centre speaker and C1 subwoofer. So instead of demonstrating an SCM7 or 11 as a makeshift centre, we can now demonstrate a full 5.1 or 7.1 ATC speaker systems.

Image

So this brings our tally of hi-fi AV packages up to 11, uncluding KEF iQ, KEF XQ, KEF Reference, MA Bronze, MA Silver RX, MA Gold GS, MA Platinum PL,B&W 600 series, B&W CM series, Neat Motive plus many variants on those 11 packages (and that’s not including numerous lifestyle AV packages we have on demo). And with ProAc and PMC to be added to this tally shortly, there’s not much reason to visit any other retailer when choosing a home cinema speaker package, because we have the best under a single roof, ready for you to listen to at your leisure, on AV amplifiers and receivers from the likes of Arcam, Pioneer, Yamaha, Onkyo, Denon, and Marantz.

Denon DM38 DAB+ Mini System

From June, the successor to Denon’s well reviewed and stupidly popular DM37 mini system, the DM38, will be available in store.

Image

Visually, not much has changed. The main thing is that those who want full iPod control no longer need to buy the ASD11R iPod dock to accompany it – all functions are now available via the USB on the front of the unit. Power is still a decent 30wpc, and incorporates a single mono pre-output for adding a subwoofer. There are two analogue inputs, and a pair of analogue outputs for running to a recording device, or for an offboard headphone pre-amplifier.

Epson TW3500 and TW4400 Now On Demo

We now have the Epson TW3500 amd TW4400 LCD projectors on demo, to demo alongside our existing JVC / InFocus / Optoma / Panasonic / Mitsubishi line up. Both are full 1080p HD and use 10 bit video processing, have up to 4,000 hours lamp life, with a very low noise level of 22dB. Both are RS232 controllable, and have a 12v trigger.

Image

Image

The TW4400 also uses the same 3 panel LCD system, but uses the C2 Fine LCD panels for an improved picture. Zoom is motorised from the remote control (this is manual on the 3500), and it’s two HDMI inputs are Deep Colour compatable. Contrast ratio is a far higher 130,000:1.
